Rules of conduct for all Managers, Coaches, Supervisors, Sponsors, Participants, Players, Officials, Parents, and Spectators.
Article I - Offenses
Coaches, Managers, Supervisors, Sponsors, Participants, Players, Administrators, Officials, Parents, and Spectators shall not:
- Curse (malicious or otherwise, verbally, written or electronically / email communication or by physical gesture) at another manager, coach, supervisor, sponsor, participant, player, game official, parent, spectator, administrator or official of the Warren County Parks & Recreation Department.
- Push, hit, strike, or threaten (verbally, written or electronically / email communication or by physical gesture) to a manager, coach, supervisor, sponsor, participant, player, official, parent, spectator, administrator or official of the Warren County Parks & Recreation Department.
- Be drinking or under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, or any controlled substance while on park or school premises before, during, or after an event.
- Act in an irrational manner or make a public spectacle or nuisance of oneself before, during, or after a scheduled event.
- Violate the rules and regulations of the activity or program in which they are involved.
- Participate in any act that undermines league policy or procedures.
- Instigate with proof of two (2) witnesses any infraction listed in rules A, B, C, D, E, F, and G.
- Contest that they will be dismissed from a South Warren Youth Basketball League schedule game or practice.
* When one violates Article I., A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. The South Warren Youth Basketball League Board of Directors may implement the ZERO Tolerance rule, resulting in the child or children of the individual violating the rule or rules being dismissed from the South Warren Youth Basketball League for one year of the infraction. NO APPEAL
Article II - Penalties
Violations of Rule: A - All Coaches, Managers, Supervisors, Sponsors, Participants, Players, Administrators, Officials, Parents, and Spectators.
- First Offense:
Dismissed from the South Warren Youth Basketball League for the remainder of the season and post season activities. Violation of the rule in the latter part of the season (20% of the season or post-season remaining) may warrant the penalty carrying over to the next season. NO APPEAL
- Second Offense:
Dismissal from the Warren County Parks & Rec. activities and the South Warren Youth Basketball League for one (1) year.
- Third Offense:
Permanent dismissal from all Warren County Parks Rec. activities and the South Warren Youth Basketball League.
Violations of Rules: E, F, G - All Coaches, Managers, Supervisors, Sponsors, Participants, Players, Administrators, Officials, Parents, and Spectators.
- First Offense:
Dismissed for three (3) weeks.
- Second Offense:
Dismissal from the Warren County Parks & Rec. activities and the South Warren Youth Basketball League for one (1) year.
- Third Offense:
Permanent dismissal from all Warren County Parks Rec. activities and the South Warren Youth Basketball League.
Violations of Rules: B, C, D - All Coaches, Managers, Supervisors, Sponsors, Participants, Players, Administrators, Officials, Parents, and Spectators.
- First Offense:
Dismissal from the Warren County Parks & Rec. activities and the South Warren Youth Basketball League for one (1) year.
- Permanent dismissal from all Warren County Parks Rec. activities and the South Warren Youth Basketball League.
If deemed necessary by the Warren County Parks & Recreation Department or the South Warren Youth Basketball League Board of Directors. May take legal action against the individual violating the code of ethics.
Violations of Rule: H - All Coaches, Managers, and Players.
- First Offense:
Dismissed for one (1) game and one (1) week, no contact with the team until suspension is lifted.
- Second Offense:
Dismissed from the South Warren Youth Basketball League for the remainder of the season and post season activities.
- Coaches, players, participants, spectators, officials, and parents, shall not be in any part of the school other than the gymnasium and bathroom during and event.
- Coaches, players, participants, parents, and spectators shall not intentionally distract players while the game is in progress.
- No coach, parent, or spectator shall come onto the gym floor unless his/her child is injured.
- Any coach or player, receiving more than four technical fouls in a season may be dismissed from the league.
- Any act of unsportsmanlike conduct including but not limited to...
- Insulting or disparaging remarks to players, coaches, officials, or other spectators.
- Exaggerated emotional outburst.
- Cheating, or failing to follow league requirement for play time.
- Encouraging a participant to fake an illness or injury or miss an event to avoid league required play time.
ALL TECHNICAL FOULS called against coaches or players shall be reported to the League Board of Directors or WCPR in writing by the Official calling the technical foul at the end of the game or before the Official leaves the gym. A coach or player receiving two technical fouls in a single game will immediately begin a one week (seven day) and one game suspension. The decision of the Official in calling technical fouls is final and not subject to protest.
Violations of any of the above rules may result in suspension of privilege to participate in SWYBL or WCPR activities. Length of restrictions will be determined by the Board of Directors and subject to appeal ONLY to the WCPR.
An individual restricted from participation in SWYBL is not to attend any SWYBL sponsored event including but not limited to practice, games, tournament play, all-star events, meetings, awards ceremonies, etc.
